Small film companies sue over screener ban
Small movie production companies sued the Motion Picture Association of America Monday to try to force an end to a partial ban by Hollywood studios on sending special video copies to awards groups.

University of Florida Banning Users Who Download Copyrighted Files
An interesting approach for a University. U of F has decided to not just block the uploading of copyrighted files (so far the only people subpoenaed by the RIAA have been uploading files) but to also disconnect users who *download* files. What are the ethical ramifications for this, and is this an abuse of authority?

Apple's iTunes DRM Broken?
A Register.co.uk article reports that the author of DeCSS has written a small command line Windows utility (QTFairUse) which "will dump the output of a QuickTime stream to a file". The Quicktime stream in question are AAC files.
